Condition: Lovely antique condition. This silver frame is fitted with a fine and impressive oak wood back and hinged strut. This antique frame is inset with a removable glass panel.

Maker: Walker and Hall. The business was established in Sheffield in 1845 by George Walker. The business was joined by Henry Hall and became in 1853 Walker & Hall. The factory was at Howard Street, Sheffield. Walker & Hall was converted into a limited liability company in 1920 under the style Walker & Hall Ltd and combined in 1963 under the British Silverware Ltd with Mappin & Webb and Elkington & Co.

Hallmarked: 1901 Sheffield (date letter “i”).

Maker’s mark: Walker and Hall (W&H into a pennant)

Metal: silver (0.9250). Measures ±: 21 cm x 17 cm (suitable for photo size 13 x 9 cm)
