This vintage postcard captures a sweeping view of the new city of Taza (La Ville Nouvelle), as seen from the elevated vantage point of the indigenous part of the city. Located strategically between the Rif and Middle Atlas Mountains, Taza has historically served as a key passageway and military stronghold due to its geographical importance. By the early 20th century, the French colonial administration had begun developing the “Ville Nouvelle” or “New Town” to modernize and expand the city.

The reverse side remains unused and shows the typical correspondence and address fields, with a printed mark from Phototypie Etablissements Photo Albert, 5 Place de Chartres, Alger.
