Peugeot 304 Coupé S from 1974.

The offered corn yellow Coupe S was delivered new in the Netherlands on April 6, 1974.

Body/paintwork:

After the purchase by the first owner in 1982, the car was completely stripped down, a number of sheet metal parts were replaced with original Peugeot sheet metal, and the car was completely resprayed in the original color corn yellow.
The headlights have also been replaced by the model with the so-called double parabola, separated low and high beam. Of course equipped with yellow bulbs.
It is nice to see that it is an older car, with the associated patina, but still in very good condition.

Interior:

The disadvantage of the original Teppluxe leatherette upholstery was that it was sensitive to drying out. Therefore, both front seats were reupholstered with matching brown full leather upholstery.
The original floor mats are in place and the luggage compartment has been partially re-upholstered where necessary.
Headlining has been removed for respray and has been refitted.

Technical:

During the restoration, the engine and gearbox turned out to be in excellent condition, and major maintenance was sufficient.
However, both struts and shock absorbers were replaced at the time, mainly because they were still available new.

Documents:

The car comes with the original Dutch registration certificate, as well as brochures, technical documentation from Peugeot France, and a printout from a dynamometer.

Most recent work:

The following actions have been carried out over the last 3,000 km:

Other fuel tank, because of rust in the old one. Also an electric fuel pump is placed, to simplify starting after a long period of inactivity.

Carburetor cleaned, and then the engine was tuned on a dyno. The test cycle showed the engine to have over 80hp, which is a good indication that the engine has not lost any power over the past 50 years.

Brake overhaul: new front brake calipers and pads, rear brake lining, brake fluid replaced.

Cooling system flushed and refreshed.

Rims sandblasted, powder coated in original colour, new tyres fitted in the correct size.

Parrot Bluetooth car kit mounted, with streaming capability.

Documents:

The original paper registration number is supplied with the car. The registration number part 1, which contains the technical data, shows the importer’s abbreviation NE (from Gebroeders Nefkens, the importer at the time).
It also has a post office date stamp, which contains the date of first registration.

Together with license plate part 2, it proves that the current owner has owned the car for 42 years.
