Antoine DAENS (1871-1946)
Biography: Daens Antoine was an Impressionist painter of landscapes, garden views, genre scenes, figures, nudes, interiors, portraits and still lifes. He painted in oils and pastels. He was also an illustrator.
Antoine Daens was born in Brussels in 1871. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels.
Daens exhibited frequently in Belgium, notably at the Brussels gallery “La Palette” in 1918. He was appointed professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Watermael-Boitsfort, where he spent many years as a master teacher for various students.
Daens died in Brussels in 1946.
His paintings can be found in private and public collections, notably at the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels.
