Chromolithography is a type of lithography, but in many ways it is a very different printmaking process. Chromolithography allowed create of images with every imaginable colour and with an appearance that sometimes closely copied that of original oil paintings (This print looks like oil painting). This type of print became very popular in the 1890’s.
