“This young, ten-year-old Afghan refugee girl living in Peshawar, Pakistan, had never seen her homeland of Afghanistan. I photographed her at the same time I was in Peshawar trying to find Sharbat Gula seventeen years after I first photographed her in Nasir Bagh refugee camp.”
